Why one sofa can still be a large shipment
Freight is affected by the packed volume and the size of each piece, not only the scale weight. A light but bulky sofa can use substantial space. Wooden protection may add size, while weak factory packing may not be suitable for repeated handling.
Which route may fit?
Ocean groupage or another shared ocean service may be considered for eligible bulky furniture. Air can be reviewed for urgent cargo that fits airline limits, but its chargeable-weight cost may be high. The choice depends on the shipment, not a universal rule.
Does shipping one item make financial sense?
Compare the item value with packing, origin collection, freight, destination customs and tax scope, final delivery and unloading. Buildcargo does not claim that one-item shipping is always the cheapest choice.
What the current cases can prove
The completed U.S. record proves furniture handling and signed delivery, while the Canadian record proves whole-household consolidation and the Spain record proves doors-and-windows handling. None is presented as a completed single-sofa case.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 30 kg minimum per piece?
No. It is 30 kg total shipment weight, not per piece, subject to cargo and route review.
Can the driver carry the sofa inside?
Not by default. Unloading, carrying inside, stairs and installation must be confirmed separately.
Is one sofa always economical to ship?
No. The item value, packed volume, route and destination costs must be compared.
