Ocean is usually the practical base for furniture, building materials and whole-home shipments. Truck and air are selected when the cargo, urgency and European destination fit those channels.

These are planning references from warehouse acceptance, not delivery guarantees. Each written quote states the timing basis. Supplier readiness, booking space, customs checks, weather and final-mile appointments can change the actual result. Rail remains available only after the cargo and destination are reviewed.
Before booking
Know what the total covers before you compare quotes: China-side collection or receiving, packing work, freight, duties and VAT, and the delivery handover. Separately charged work and conditions that could change the price are confirmed in writing. See how quote changes are handled.
For eligible private home orders, Buildcargo's own European VAT company supports the written import arrangement. You do not need your own VAT number, to issue a customs invoice yourself, or to arrange customs declaration and clearance. The factory supplies the product documents and Buildcargo coordinates the process. Your normal delivery contact details are enough to start that coordination; the written plan confirms the cargo, importer, duties and VAT scope before booking.
Basic receiving records each delivery reference, piece count, labels, visible outer condition, final packed dimensions and gross weight. If receiving reveals missing, wrong or visibly damaged goods, we share photos, communicate with the supplier and coordinate the storage, packing or transport response. Authorized opening, product-level QC, export crating and reinforcement are separate scopes.
If your home is not ready, we can coordinate storage in China with your renovation schedule. At the Shenzhen warehouse, days 1–14 from the first batch’s arrival are free; storage is RMB 100 per shipment per calendar day from day 15. Longer arrangements are confirmed in writing. This service is designed for furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, sanitary ware, lighting and other declared ordinary bulky goods for homes and projects. Sensitive goods, dangerous goods and prohibited or controlled items are not accepted under this service.
Buildcargo can use established DHL and FedEx carrier accounts for suitable consignments. Furniture and building materials that do not fit standard network vehicles move through local bulky-goods trucks or scheduled project vehicles. We review maps or street views of the address and coordinate a carrier assessment and quote for a suitable vehicle. See the detailed European household-service boundary.
